I edit prose in front of people. It started as a way to show writers what editing actually looks like from the inside, and it’s probably why you’ve heard of me.

Here's how it works: someone donates a passage. We get together on Zoom where I read it cold, in front of the group, and work through it line by line—what I'd change, what I'd leave, and why. Every decision gets explained. You see the reasoning, not just the result.

Most editing happens invisibly. A manuscript goes away and comes back marked up, and the thinking that produced those marks stays locked in someone else's head. These sessions are that thinking, out loud.

All sessions are free unless marked otherwise.

Live Edit

The standard session. A donated passage, as much as I can get through in sixty minutes. Bring questions. Participation is encouraged.

After Dark

The same format, for explicit and/or dark material.

There's very little existing craft instruction in this space, which is strange given how much of it is being written. Sex scenes have structure. Dark material has craft requirements that are more demanding than the alternative, not less. Pacing, escalation, and tricky subject matter deserve to be rendered with actual technique rather than avoided. This is where we do that work properly.

No euphemism, no flinching, and no assumption that writing this material is a lesser ambition.
